never thought
we’d ever see
a defilement
of our democracy
by a criminal president
and his liars in wait
who light the fire
of racist hate

looking into
America’s soul
a battle rages
over losing control
as racist “men”
cheat at life’s game
deny the rainbow
and rage at the rain
